VENDING:
Ballard is a year round street market. Open hours shift to shorter hours in winter to longer hours in summer.
Vending opportunities are open to direct producers of fresh farm produce and makers of original crafts only. (Flea market, collectibles, and import vendors are only being accepted at our sister Fremont Market at this time). Display spaces are 10' by 10' in size, vendors provide their own pop-up tents and tables. The set-up fee in the summer season is a flat fee is $40 for all craft vendors (in winter fees are $35.) Farmers and processors' fees are based on sales; a fee schedule will be supplied with application packet.
PRODUCE PROCESSED FOOD POLICY:
Only fresh fruits and vegetables and wildcraftings such as honeys, jams, salsas etc. that have been made by or gathered by the exhibitor are allowed. This is strictly enforced. Contact Market Master Judy first to apply. Processed food items, such as breads, candy or sauces, must be manufactured locally according to all health department regulations.
CRAFTS POLICY:
Only crafts and products made by or designed by the exhibitor are allowed. Those items manufactured elsewhere must have the exhibitor's name or copyright imprinted on them as proof of design. The market master will screen goods for compliance on the day of arrival. For any craft booth and eligibility questions please visit us in person the week prior to your vending date with samples; NOTE: This is primarily a Farmers market, so crafts booths WILL be subject to being moved as the summer season progresses to make way for more farmers. The policy is LAST IN-FIRST OUT. Vendors who are newest arrivals will be the first to be replaced regardless of membership. Opportunities may exist in other markets.
CRAFT VENDING:
Sellers of original crafts can show up on the day of the
event and apply for a space, first come-first served, starting
at 8 am. Non-member spaces
are announced at 8:30 after members have first choice.
FOOD VENDING:
Applications for vending prepared foods are taken quarterly during the first week of January, April, July & October. They are on a case-by-case basis according to menu, specialty and presentation, We accept no more than 5 prepared food vendors per quarter. Menus may not duplicate existing vendor menus. Applicants need to apply in person during the Market hours, or submit an email with a brief description of your presentation, menu, start date, and contact information.
MEMBERSHIP:
Ongoing participation in the market requires a City of Seattle business license and a state UBI tax number and Market membership. If you're coming for the first time to try out the market. you may be accepted to vend on a temporary basis. You must supply verification of all licenses the next time you wish to participate at the market. Market Members enjoy the ability to reserve spaces or pick spaces ahead of non-members in both weekend markets and special events. Market membership is valid in all markets. Click

UNLOADING & PARKING:
Vendors WITH reservations must check-in with market staff at the Market Info Booth. Staged load-ins will be directed by traffic monitors. Those without reservations must park off the market street one block south on Shilshole Ave. and report to the Market Info booth on Ballard Avenue on foot to get your space assignment. Return to your car and proceed, as instructed by market staff for load-in. Off-load immediately then your park in the areas specified. ALL vendors must use these designated parking
areas or either side Shilshole Avenue as indicated in green
on the directional
map.
