Our third installment of Meet Me at the Market highlights Jamie Jockwig, a local entrepreneur and jeweler that offers a very unique service that supports a great cause in Africa. Give it a read and catch him at the market every Sunday.
Tell us about your business and products.
We specialize in all things fine jewelry including: Handcrafted & Traditional, Engagement & Bridal, Vintage & Estate, Gemstones & Diamonds, Custom Design & Repair, Appraisals. We also buy silver, gold and platinum; and consign vintage jewelry.
How has the Fremont Sunday Market helped your business?
We have been able to connect with a unique and fabulous crowd of fine jewelry shoppers meandering about the market who often feel intimidated and uncomfortable shopping for fine jewelry in the chain stores. As a result of our market presence, we have been able to work very personably with a lot of great socially conscious people looking for engagement rings, gemstone jewelry, one of a kind custom designed pieces, etc.. We love the Fremont Market clan!

Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry is a social entrepreneurial business focused on using profits to establish and develop self-sustaining orphanages worldwide. We are currently involved in a building project for a new orphanage on the west side of Kenya, East Africa. Two of our strengths as a business are our customer service and integrity. Each customer is treated and supported as an individual with their own hopes and dreams for their jewelry purchases. In an industry where there is a lot of mistrust, Baraka wants to shine as the fine jewelry store who meets customers where they are at, treats them fairly and with respect, and helps each person purchase just right piece(s) for them!
